لجنة تنسيق الدستور الغذائي لأفريقيا - المنسق الإقليمي لأوغندا
تم إنشاء "لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في أفريقيا" من قبل هيئة الدستور الغذائي في عام 1972 بهدف "ممارسة التنسيق العام في إعداد المواصفات المتعلقة بمنطقة إفريقيا". وعقدت اللجنة اجتماعها الأول في منظمة الأغذية والزراعة في عام 1974 بحضور 19 دولة.
ومع بدء فترة عمل المنسق الإقليمي الجديد، عزز اتفاق منطقة التجارة الحرة القارية الأفريقية (AfCFTA)، والذي دخل حيز التنفيذ في أيار/ مايو 2020، من الحاجة إلى نظام يتسم بالكفاءة والفعالية لإدارة تدابير الصحة والصحة النباتية، ولا سيما بالنسبة سلامة الأغذية، عبر القارة في الوقت الذي تفتح فيه حدودها للتجارة.
ويقع مقر المنسق الإقليمي في المكتب الوطني للمواصفات في أوغندا، وهو هيئة قانونية تابعة لوزارة التجارة والصناعة والتعاونيات تشرف على تعزيز واستخدام المواصفات كجزء من تفويضها.
وتعتزم أوغندا، كمنسق إقليمي، المشاركة بشكل وثيق مع البلدان من خلال المسوحات والندوات عبر الإنترنت وورش العمل لتحديد الاحتياجات والقضايا الناشئة، وخلق الوعي بقضايا سلامة الأغذية ذات الأولوية ومواصفات الدستور الغذائي. كما ستقوم دراسة تجريبية باستكشاف وضع سلامة الأغذية من ناحية أوسع في جميع أنحاء المنطقة. ومن خلال تعزيز المشاركة مع الهيئات الإقليمية مثل الاتحاد الأفر والمنظمة الأفريقية لتوحيد المواصفات وأمانة منطقة التجارة الحرة القارية الأفريقية، تهدف أوغندا أيضا إلى تعزيز أعمال المناصرة في المنطقة.

World Food Safety Day / Nigeria hotel staff encourage food safety awareness
Staff at the Marriott Hotel in Lagos celebrated in a day of food safety awareness raising.
The event started with a welcome note from the General Manager to all attendees. There was a presentation for the day by the Hygiene and Food Safety Manager, Victoria Ofoji Macaulay. Capacity building for the technical committee for standardization in the agrifood sector

Nutritionists celebrate World Food Safety Day in Democratic Republic of Congo
As part of the preparations for the World Food Safety Day, Action des Nutritionnistes du Congo (ANUCO) is organizing a workshop on June 7 that will bring together stakeholders from the food sector (farmers, fishermen, merchants, transporters, vendors, NGOs, churches, associations, researchers and nutritionists) to reflect on food management practices to prevent foodborne illnesses. This workshop will be followed by an awareness campaign carried out across the provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

World Food Safety Day / University of Mauritius holds a webinar with FAO and WHO guests
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Mauritius hosted a webinar on food safety to mark World Food Safety Day.

Codex Trust Fund / FAO training in Zimbabwe strengthens capacity
As part of the Codex Trust Fund project in Zimbabwe, FAO has carried out training to disseminate knowledge and build capacity, particularly in relation to the Codex standards-setting process. CCAFRICA25 agrees on actions for furthering food safety and standards in the region

CCAFRICA25 / A week of work and celebration gets under way
The 25th session of the FAO/WHO Coordinating Committee for Africa has commenced in Kampala, Uganda, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the Committee.
