World Food Safety Day / Mexican company promotes food safety culture with a national fair across its entire value chain

13/06/2025

For the third consecutive year, Omex Alimentaria, a Mexican producer of processed meats and dairy products, celebrated World Food Safety Day with a national fair filled with fun activities inspired by traditional games such as lotería and pirinola, adapted to reinforce key knowledge in good manufacturing practices, prerequisite programs, and hazard control.

More than 1000 employees participated simultaneously in different locations across the country, involving the entire value chain: from production and distribution to product sales. Each activity allowed them to apply technical knowledge in a practical and fun way, redeeming points for prizes.

The event included in-person activities at plants and distribution centres, as well as remote activities to integrate office teams and employees in different regions. In addition, an internal communications campaign was launched with key messages, visual resources, and training content that reinforced the importance of living food safety in everyday life. The initiative was led by the Integrated Management Systems department, headed by manager Juan Pablo Galindo. His team designed a comprehensive experience with an educational and cultural focus, aimed at strengthening food safety awareness at all levels of the organization.

As part of the closing ceremony, a special tasting of the company's products was held, strengthening the company's sense of purpose and belonging. Participants not only reinforced technical concepts but also understood that this work is everyone's responsibility and can be integrated into their daily activities in creative and culturally meaningful ways.
